Some Writing and Artwork Done

Yesterday morning, I got a little over 1,000 words done on Season of Crows. It's approaching the 50,000-word mark. Most of my novels these days range between 50 and 70 thousand words. I think this one's nearing completion. I generally enjoy reading shorter novels these days. I often find myself reading a 400-page novel and thinking it could've been trimmed and not lost anything in the story. That's just me.

Got some time in by the pool with Jenn yesterday. It was a beautiful 85 degree day in Western New York. We sat on the deck last night with our son Tony and I got the sketch below done. Inspired by King's The Night Flier. On the reading front, I'm almost done with Brian Keene's Darkness at the Edge of Town (loving it). Keene does small-town, blue collar America really well. Plus he's a great storyteller.
